Facilities Assistant

You will be required to be an on an on-call and standby rota from Monday to
Sunday one week in three for which an allowance will be payable. The working hours for this
post are flexible and are to be agreed with the Operations Manager on a weekly rota on an
ad hoc basis.

The successful candidate will take pride in their work, and demonstrate an understanding of
Health and Safety requirements and customer service.

Weekend Visitor Information Centre Assistant

Have you got an interest in Welshpool and the surrounding area? Have you an interest in helping our local residents and visitors alike with travel plans, places to visit but also be part of our retail offer? Are you a student possibly studying travel and tourism or are you a local resident looking for weekend work – we would be pleased to hear from you.

To coincide with the retirement of a long-standing member of staff this newly created weekend post will be for 12 hours per week 9.30 a.m. – 4 p.m. including breaks in the Welshpool Visitor Information Centre.

SPC2 £18,198 – SP4 £18,633 per annum pro rata for 12 hours per week, dependent upon age and experience.

Administrator and Co-ordinator

Interested in a career in Local Government?

Your first step on the ladder could be in a new role of Administrator and Co-ordinator created by Welshpool Town Council. We are looking for someone with suitable qualifications and experience to take on a key role in the Town Council team.

You will be helping to drive the future success of Welshpool. Your duties will include acting as a PA to the Town Clerk and Town Mayor, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of our town-centre offices and being the first point of contact for the public. The ability to be part of a cohesive team but also work on your own initiative is essential – being able to communicate in the Welsh language is desirable but not essential.

The role offers excellent opportunities for career progression – within two years of joining the Town Council training for ILCA and CILCA qualifications will be offered, for which study leave will be available.

30 hours per week including some evening and weekend work.

SPC9 £20,903 – SPC11 £21,748 pro-rata dependent on experience.
