Welshpool Town Council

The Town Council is prposing some changes to the Memorial Gardens in Howell Drive Maes Y Dre.  At present there is a war memorial at St Marys Church owned by the Council recognising those who gave their lives in WW1 and WW2. There is no memorial for those who gave their lives in conflict since that time.

The Town Council is seeking views on the erection of a memorial wall in the gardens which woudl carry the names of those who have died in active military service since 1945 and also those who have died in active emergency services since that date.

The Paul Thomas Stone would form part of the scheme.  The family has been consulted.

If anyone wishes to express a view please either write to Triangle House Union Street Welshpool SY21 7PG or email

The consulation runs till 30th May.
