A bold new initiative by Welshpool Town Council with the introduction of a new Transport Festival for Welshpool which will take place on Saturday and Sunday 23rd and 24th June 2018.
The aim is to provide various sites around the area from Welshpool Main Line Station through to Llanfair Caereinion Station on the steam railway.
The individual elements
The events planned include:
Steam Trains on the W&LLR with a special service (Saturday and Sunday)
Air activities (day to be confirmed)
Boats on the canal including coracle racing (Saturday)
Canal boat trips (Saturday and Sunday)
Steam vehicles (Saturday and Sunday)
Skateboard competition (Saturday)
Cycles including a cycle race (Saturday)
A running race (Saturday)
Cars, Commercial and other vehicles (Saturday and Sunday)
Buses (Saturday and Sunday)
Agricultural plant and machinery (Saturday and Sunday)
Fairground and other attractions (Saturday and Sunday)
Model ride on railway (Saturday and Sunday)
Models and more (Saturday and Sunday)
Music - Busking around the Town
There will also be evening activities including:
An evening of music in the Assembly Room at the Town Hall
Fish and Chip steam train starting from Welshpool

Buses and Parking
There will also be a bus service from a park and ride so that you do not have an issue with parking. A map with parking will be noted on this web site soon.
